Comforting Copaiba DIYs

broken image

When it comes to handling occasional discomfort, dōTERRA® Copaiba has it covered with natural support. If you take great care to avoid synthetic ingredients and toxicity in so many everyday products, why settle for anything less natural in this area? Before we dive into two comforting Copaiba recipes for wellness support, here’s a quick overview of the oil itself.

Copaiba oil shares some key similarities with CBD (cannabidiol) while retaining a separate identity all its own. Chemically, the syrupy resin of the copaiba tree produces the highest level of beta-caryophyllene (BCP) known in nature. BCP has cannabinoid-like properties, yet in this case it does not originate from the cannabis plant. Instead, this powerful chemical comes straight from the towering copaiba tree. With zero chance of showing up on a drug test, Copaiba oil boasts a higher amount of BCP than CBD oil, along with a more reasonable price tag. The point is, Copaiba essential oil is an amazing source of a natural chemical called beta- caryophyllene that is capable of supporting the body in significant and dynamic ways!

Now that we’ve established what Copaiba oil is, we can move on to those comforting recipes I promised. No matter the season, the lungs always crave a breath of fresh air. How much more so when the weather is shifting, or you’re feeling stuck underneath it. This game-changing concoction, which we’ll call Copaiba Chest Rub, requires the following ingredients:

• 1/2 cup coconut oil or shea butter

• 2 tablespoons beeswax pastilles

• 25 drops Air-XTM essential oil

• 15 drops Copaiba essential oil

• Glass jar

• 2 oz. tins

Add all ingredients, except for essential oils, to glass jar. Fill a large saucepan with between 1 and 1.5 inches of water and bring just to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low to maintain a simmer. Add glass jar to center of saucepan to melt the ingredients together, stirring every few minutes to combine well. Once melted, remove from heat to cool for 5-10 minutes. Then add essential oils to the mixture and combine. (Note: other effective oils that can be used in place of Air-X include Eucalyptus, Lavender and Peppermint.) When oils are well incorporated, transfer mixture into small tins and store in a cool, dry place.

To use this absolutely soothing do-it-yourself chest rub, dole out a small amount to massage onto the chest in gentle circles. Inhale slowly and deeply.

The other recipe I want to share with you is super simple, but a quick glance at the oils included will communicate that it means business! Have you ever spent too much time gazing at a screen, whether for work or pleasure, only to find that your vision and general headspace were just not cooperating with your intentions? If you know this feeling, then you know all too well the pounding discomfort and overall sense of off-ness that can result. Here’s where Copaiba comes into the mix. Make this quick Calm the Pounding roller blend by combining 5 drops each of Copaiba, Frankincense, Lavender, and Peppermint. Top off the roller bottle with Fractionated Coconut Oil; then roll onto temples and/or forehead.

Showing itself gentle yet powerful in these practical recipes, Copaiba proves to be a valuable tool in your hands for supporting whole-body wellness. I hope these ideas help you to strategically utilize comforting Copaiba oil, making you ready for anything the season might bring.
